Foaming at the Mouth

Poor Sean Spicer.

The hapless White House Press Secretary this morning told the press corps that “even Adolf Hitler” did not use chemical weapons on his own people.

Asked for clarification, Spicer dug the hole deeper:

“He was not using the gas on his own people in the same way that Assad is doing.”

and later in the day,

“In no way was I trying to lessen the horrendous nature of the Holocaust, however, I was trying to draw a contrast of the tactic of using airplanes to drop chemical weapons on innocent people,”

. . . which was like throwing a bucket of chum into shark-infested waters.

The voices of professional outrage instantly called for Spicer to be fired.

First up was Steven Goldstein, shameless opportunist and executive director of the gay rights advocacy group,  the Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect:

“Spicer’s statement is the most evil slur upon a group of people we have ever heard from a White House press secretary”

. . . he spluttered, leaving us all wondering what the hell he was talking about.  ( “Evil? a slur? on whom? What in hell? Maybe English isn’t his first language.”)

Next at bat was former singer Barbra Streisand, who had this faux indignant tweet to impart:

Sean Spicer should be fired for saying Hitler did not use chemical weapons on “his own people.” You mean 6 million Jews don’t count?,”

Um . . . count as what? Does Streisand really think of the victims of the Holocaust as being “his (Hitler’s) own people” ?

And Princess Chelsea The Irrelevant had this condescending remark to make:

“I hope @PressSec takes time to visit @HolocaustMuseum. It’s a few blocks away.”

. . . proving that she’s her mother’s daughter, sure enough.

Such is the nature of Trump Derangement Syndrome. For the next eight years, the level of outrage a remark elicits will indicate nothing about the remark, and everything about the political affiliations of the remarker.

Obama’s Legacy: Slave Markets in Libya

Black Africans are being bought and sold in slave markets in Libya.

Reports  form the UN-affiliated International Organization for Migration say migrants from West Africa are being held in private prisons in Libya if they are unable to pay the smugglers who arrange their passage to Europe.

West African migrants interviewed by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) have recounted being bought and sold in garages and car parks in the southern city of Sabha, one of Libya’s main migrant smuggling hubs.

Migrants are traded for between $200 and $500 and are held on average for two or three months, Othman Belbeisi, head of the IOM’s Libya mission, told journalists in Geneva.

“Migrants are being sold in the market as a commodity,” he said. “Selling human beings is becoming a trend among smugglers as the smuggling networks in Libya are becoming stronger and stronger.”

Migrants from Gambia, Senegal and Nigeria are set upon by armed groups and captured as they travel to Libya’s Mediterranean coast. They are held for ransom and forced to work without pay, or sold as slaves. The new owner may demand a new ransom or leave the captives to starve.

“What we know is that migrants who fall into the hands of smugglers face systematic malnutrition, sexual abuse and even murder,” Mohammed Abdiker, IOM’s Director of Operations and Emergencies, said in a statement. “We are hearing about mass graves in the desert.”

Another Alleged Syrian Gas Attack

The Democrats’ Favorite Republican Gets His Way At Last . . .

On April 4, it has been alleged, Syrian civilians including children were subjected to another gas attack by the Assad regime.

The President has stated that he has changed his mind about intervention against the Assad regime, and that after the deaths of over eighty people in the latest attack, “something should happen.”

I would like to suggest that we keep our foot on the brake, and think it over.  And then think it over again.

For those experiencing deja vu, yes, this happened before. It was in August of 2013, and John Kerry was Secretary of State. We were assured that the Assad regime had attacked all the little children and their moms, that they were killed with poison gas, and that the culprit was Bashir al-Assad, the Syrian President. Assad has been the favorite target of hatred by the al-Nusra Front, the Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamist factions. Oh, and the Obama administration.

The Obama administration asserted Sunday for the first time that the Syrian government used the nerve gas sarin to kill more than 1,400 people in the world’s gravest chemical weapons attack in 25 years as the White House intensified pressure on a skeptical Congress to authorize punitive military strikes against Damascus.

Secretary of State John F. Kerry said new laboratory tests showed traces of sarin, an extremely toxic nerve agent, in blood and hair samples collected from emergency workers who responded Aug. 21 to the scene of an alleged chemical weapons attack in the Damascus suburbs.

In an interview blitz on five Sunday television news shows, Kerry said the fresh forensic evidence strengthened an already compelling case for taking military action against the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, and he predicted that Congress would vote to give President Obama that authority.

“I can’t contemplate that the Congress would turn its back on all of that responsibility and the fact that we would have, in fact, granted impunity to a ruthless dictator to continue to gas his people,” Kerry said on “Fox News Sunday.” “Those are the stakes.”

The death toll is markedly lower this time, with

. . . Well, I just heard that the US has launched airstrikes on Syria, with 43 Tomahawk missiles targeting Syrian airbases. The Russians are apparently involved.

I think it’s a bad mistake. And I think we’ll end up welcoming a lot more Syrian “refugees” as a result.

Assad is a horrible leader. Only the Islamists that will replace him are worse.

World-renowned liar Susan Rice made multiple requests for the identities of Americans who appeared on electronic surveillance of foreign officials.

As reported in his column in Bloomberg View, journalist Eli Lake says that Obama’s National Security Advisor

requested the identities of U.S. persons in raw intelligence reports on dozens of occasions that connect to the Donald Trump transition and campaign, according to U.S. officials familiar with the matter.

The pattern of Rice’s requests was discovered in a National Security Council review of the government’s policy on “unmasking” the identities of individuals in the U.S. who are not targets of electronic eavesdropping, but whose communications are collected incidentally. Normally those names are redacted from summaries of monitored conversations and appear in reports as something like “U.S. Person One.”

The Intelligence committees of both the House and Senate are investigating allegations of Russian interference in the US election. Rep. Devin Nunes, Chair of the House Intelligence committee, is also investigating Obama administration electronic surveillance of the Trump transition team.

Rice’s requests for the identities of American citizens incidentally surveilled may reveal more than the Obama administration intended about its actual motives in requesting a  FISA warrant.

In Eli Lake’s view

[t]he standard for senior officials to learn the names of U.S. persons incidentally collected is that it must have some foreign intelligence value, a standard that can apply to almost anything. This suggests Rice’s unmasking requests were likely within the law.

Former senior counselor to the CIA director and former general counsel at the NSA Robert Dietz holds that

“Any senior official who receives the underlying intelligence may request these identities,” . . . noting that while “the bar for obtaining the identity is not particularly high, it must come from a senior official, and the reason cannot simply be raw curiosity.”

It is unclear whether a desire to slander and sabotage an incoming administration meets the standard.

Old Queen All Dressed Up

. . . as Kellyanne Conway’s grandmother.

Patrick Stewart Drag Kellyanne Conway

And he looks just like her! Except uglier. And with enough make-up to be a hijabi.

Sir Patrick Stewart, of course, isn’t gay (wink, wink.) He simply enjoys dressing up as a woman.

Well who doesn’t???

Also dressing up as a woman is Kate McKinnon.

Leading lady: Conway is currently played by Kate McKinnon on SNL (above McKinnon with Alec Baldwin as president Trump)

Why, she looks exactly like Kellyanne Conway! Except uglier. And with lumpy “sidethigh.” And with what could charitably be mistaken for a baby bump. Don’t skip the gym, Kate!

Standing next to Kate is Alec Baldwin, who is trying to portray the President. After the eight year ban on portrayals of the president on comedy shows, these guys just can’t stop! Of course, it might not be Alec Baldwin, but is probably a life-size hologram or something, since surely Alec Baldwin must be in Canada by now.

Speaking of pathetic, instead of actual comedians portraying President Obama, which would be, you know, offensive, we were subjected to eight years of Obama on talk shows pretending that people think he’s Al Green. And what’s more pathetic than that?

Unless it’s pretending you’re still the president, and setting up a ménage a trois a few blocks from the White House.

Even Michelle can’t put up with it, and will be continuing her lifelong series of months-long vacations, with all that secret service protection at taxpayer expense.

“New York Times” Vindicated!

Yes, the New York Times, which first published the fact that the Obama administration was wiretapping then-President-elect Donald Trump, has been proven right.

So Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Leon Panetta, Seth Meyers, Tom Cole (?), Lindsey Graham, Jeff Flake and the other vicious sanctimonious liars and backbiters who have been calling on the President to apologize to his lying, treasonous, gun walking, ISIS abetting, video blaming, Iran funding predecessor can just go . . . sleep it off.

House Intelligence Committee Chair Devin Nunes revealed that the Trump transition team had been subjected to surveillance which according to the Los Angeles Times was

unrelated to an ongoing FBI counterintelligence investigation into whether Trump campaign aides coordinated with Russian intelligence agencies that sought to interfere in the 2016 presidential race, Nunes said.

“Details about U.S. persons involved in the incoming administration with little or no apparent foreign intelligence value were widely disseminated in intelligence community reports,” he said.

Under the law, identities of Americans whose communications are picked up by intelligence eavesdropping of foreign targets are supposed to be kept confidential unless the conversations relate to espionage. . .

So the Democrat illegalities are mounting up. We really need to clean house.

Jan 19 New York Times Reported Wiretaps of Trump

Image result for NY Times building

The New York Times reported on January 19 of this year that the FBI, the NSA, and the CIA had “intercepted communications” by Donald Trump and his associates.

American law enforcement and intelligence agencies are examining intercepted communications and financial transactions as part of a broad investigation into possible links between Russian officials and associates of President-elect Donald J. Trump, including his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, current and former senior American officials said.

Those anonymous “current and former senior American officials” are never identified by the Times, and their relationship to the possibly illegal surveillance of the Republican then-president-elect is never clarified. But we do know that the operations included wiretaps:

The F.B.I. is leading the investigations, aided by the National Security Agency, the CIA and the Treasury Department’s financial crimes unit. The investigators have accelerated their efforts in recent weeks but have found no conclusive evidence of wrongdoing, the officials said. One official said intelligence reports based on some of the wiretapped communications had been provided to the White House.

So to those who continue to insist that there is “no proof” of wiretapping  of Trump by the Obama Administration, perhaps the authors of the original piece –Michael S. Schmidt, Matthew Rosenberg, Adam Goldman, and Matt Apuzzo — will be able to provide the particulars.

Here’s What the New York Times Said in October

The FBI, which was legally or illegally investigating Donald Trump in October, according to the NYT found no evidence of any collusion with Russia, nor even evidence of any Russian government attempts to see Donald Trump elected President. They did find that the Clinton campaign demanded that Donald Trump be investigated.
