Louisiana Democrat Rep. Cedric Richmond just couldn’t control himself at the Washington Press Club Foundation Dinner on Wednesday.
During his speech to Republican Senator Tim Scott, the new Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus had this little joke to impart:
“You even mentioned Kellyanne and that picture on that sofa. . . I really want to know what was going on there because she really looked kind of familiar in that position there, but don’t answer.”
The Member later offered this “clarification” of his comment to the Daily Caller:
“Since some people have interpreted my joke to mean something that it didn’t I think it is important to clarify what I meant. Last night was night of levity. Where I grew up saying that someone is looking or acting ‘familiar’ simply means that they are behaving too comfortably.”
“I decided to use that joke due to the large social media backlash over her inappropriate posture considering there were more than 60 HBCU [Historically Black Colleges and Universities] Presidents in the room.”
See? He wasn’t trying to be smutty. He just meant that Conway wasn’t showing the proper deference to the gentlemen present.
Is that better? You know, being not just a Male Supremacist Pig (or Misogynist, as the Democrats have it if the man in question is a Republican) but also a Racist? And if that’s all he meant, why would he say “but don’t answer” ?
And I’m sure Elizabeth “Fauxcahontas” Warren, Nancy Pelosi, and the rest will be along any minute now to condemn the misogynist and declare that we’re all gonna march our familiar butts to the next Town Hall meeting and tell those
Republicans . . . um, uh, nevermind.
Here’s the photo that had the Member all hot and bothered:
Here’s another woman being “familiar” in the White House:
Well I do declare, I believe that young woman is wearing dungarees in the White House! No respect!
Luckily, Rumana Ahmed was also wearing her demi-shroud, so everyone was afraid to say a word about it because Muslim privilege.
But Richmond’s comments do put me in mind of another famous photo. This one of our former president:
Why, whatever is he doing? That posture sure looks familiar to Barack, dud’nit?
